Abobaku of Ife has absconded...

In Yoruba land, when a king dies he's buried with someone called an "abobaku" the abobaku is usually a volunteer who is chosen upon ascension of the throne by the king.
In this case the abobaku of Ife has fled town upon the arrival of the king's body and this has stalled the burial process as the king can't be buried.
But is this practice still viable or necessary in modern times?

    I was shocked when i heard of it also and its a tradition we

    understand and nobody wants it to go bad at his or her own

    time.In this dispensation we are in now,it is very difficult

    for revelations like this to go by without a backlash with
