She might not have played in Australia for two decades but her first show in 23 years isn't helping Madonna sell tickets to her upcoming Rebel Heart tour.
The 56-year-old Queen of Pop is struggling to flog seats at her upcoming Australian shows, despite predictions that they would sell out in minutes because of the limited three-city tour.
Tickets went on sale on July 6 for the tour which kicks off in March 2016, but so far in most cities it's only the least expensive or bronze seats that have been snapped up.
Melbourne and Sydney fans have been more enthusiastic about buying up the bronze and silver classes, but they've been holding out on spending $305.75 to $509.65 for the higher grade seats.
Going even further for a Devil Pray VIP experience, fans can shell out about $800 in each city for platinum or gold seating near the front, and added extras including canapes, drinks, access to a pre-show party with a DJ and some tour memorabilia.
Sitting in the front row is not an option as those seats have already been bought.
The legendary act last toured Australia in 1993 on her Girlie Tour and cancelled subsequent expected musical performances with her latest five tours bypassing Australian shores.
At the time she cited her children's schooling as the reason for cancelling.
Her apparent waning popularity is in stark contrast to other acts such as Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones, who toured Australia recently.
Demand for Springsteen tickets caused the ticketek site to crash when they went on sale in 2013, while the Stones's tickets for their tour Down Under last year were snapped up in minutes.
Speculation is rife that Madonna's set list might have put off fans eager to hear her greatest hits, not her new material.
Madonna has focused on her new material on past tours, not giving a lot of time to her bigger hits from the '80s and '90s.
